Dear Stillmeadow Families,
I hope you and your loved ones are well.
The District has set a deadline of Sunday, August 23 at 11:59 pm for families to complete the Return to Learn Form. Completing the Return to Learn Form will let me know if your child(ren) will attend school at Stillmeadow every other day (Hybrid Learning Program) or opt for full-time at-home learning (Distance Teaching and Learning Academy). Without this information, the staff and I cannot complete our planning for the upcoming year.
I know you have many questions about the upcoming school year. Please refer to the District’s Frequently Asked Questions page for answers to many questions about reopening Stamford Public Schools. In addition, I will host a Stillmeadow Town Hall webinar for parents and families on Thursday, September 3. During this webinar, I will provide details about Stillmeadow’s reopening protocols. Details about the Stillmeadow Town Hall – including start time and registration information – will be communicated to families next week.
Families opting for the Hybrid Learning Program (in-person at Stillmeadow every other day) should note the following:
Classroom Teacher Assignments: Your child’s classroom teacher assignment will be sent to you by email on or before Thursday, September 3. I understand that this is much later than in previous years, but we cannot create classroom rosters until we know which students are returning to Stillmeadow for in-person learning.
Hybrid Learning Schedule: Students opting for the Hybrid Learning Schedule will attend school in person at Stillmeadow every other day. Your family will be assigned to the Blue Group or the Green Group for in-school learning. We will confirm with you by Tuesday, September 1 whether your child is in the Blue Group or the Green Group. For more information about this topic, please refer to my August 18, 2020 letter to families.
School Supply List: Stillmeadow teachers have created school supply lists for the upcoming school year. If your child is attending Stillmeadow in person this fall, please refer to this list to know which supplies to purchase.
