Stillmeadow will have a fun-filled day of literacy events and activities in honor of Dr. Seuss for National Read Across America Day on March 2.
Students and staff are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favorite story character (it does NOT have to be a Dr. Seuss character.)
Other events and activities scheduled for the day include:
- Storyteller Laconia “Lot” Therrio will entertain K-3 students in the Media Center as follows:
- 8:30 – 9:15: First grade
- 9:30 – 10:15: Kindergarten
- 10:40 – 11:25: Third grade
- 12:00 – 12:45: Second grade
- Students in Grades 4 and 5 will test their literacy knowledge in a game of “Literacy Jeopardy” as follows:
- 12:55 – 1:25: Fourth grade
- 1:30 – 2:00: Fifth grade
- All students and staff will Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.) at 2 pm.
